“A day will come when the story inside you will want to breathe on it’s own. That’s when you’ll start writing.”
Sarah Noffke
We all have a story. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like it, but learning to write your story can be a wonderful thing. Recently with the Avon University roll-out, they had a class on crafting your Avon story. I took a stab at it and came up with what I wrote below. It’s very difficult to write your story, because, at least for me it really made me think about what I am doing and why. I hope to expand on my story but wanted to share it with you now. I hope you like it…
I started my Avon business because I saw a catalog and was amazed at the great jewelry prices. I also had two teenage daughters and they were getting expensive with all the makeup and skincare products. I realized that with the order I wanted to place, it would be cheaper to start selling and get the 40% discount.
I continue to build my Avon business because it allows me to learn how to run a business, meet new people, travel and challenge myself to always be improving. Planning for retirement and having extra income is also something to look forward to.
I spend 20 hours a week selling Avon and managing my team, which allows me to manage my other life commitments including staying healthy, working a full-time job, taking care of my family, and taking care of my parents.
Having my own Avon business makes me feel powerful, valuable and more a part of my community.
